The South Hagerstown High School Athletic Booster Club will award two $1,000.00 scholarships – one to a graduating male and one to a graduating female athlete. The scholarships will be awarded for the pursuit of higher education (college or trade/technical school) and is in recognition of athletic participation, team contribution and commitment as well as their character, and leadership while playing sports at SHHS.

Scholarship Criteria:

1) Must be a South Hagerstown High School, BISFA or Tech High graduating junior/senior during the current academic year, and must have completed at least one full season in a sport or currently active in a spring sport.

2) Must be planning to attend a vocational school, community college or four-year college/university and be enrolled within six months of receiving the award. Applicants must be able to use the scholarship during the next calendar year.

3) A check will be issued to the recipient upon proof of registration of any qualified

institution as listed in Item 2 above. Proof of registration must be presented to claim

scholarship. The scholarship will be declared null and void if not redeemed by, September 30, 2025.

4) Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater.

*If a student fails to enroll in an institution or be accepted for post-secondary education

within 6 months of this award, they will forfeit the scholarship and the full monetary award

of the scholarship will be returned to the booster program.

Applications must submit the following documents to the Booster Program:

1. Completed Application

2. 2 letters of recommendation (one must be from a coach or school staff member) *

3. Essay

4. Include a copy of your SHHS transcript (does not need to be an “official” copy)

5. Team Impact Statement *

*Booster Program is requiring only 2 of the 3 statements or letters of recommendations be

submitted to apply. Applicants who submit all 3 will be given high consideration*

Applications for the 2024-2025 scholarship are no longer being accepted. The winners were announced during the all-sports banquet on May 19.
